Sri Lanka, May 2 -- The Adampan Police have reported the discovery of a stockpile of mats and bed sheets in a house in the Adampan area of Mannar, allegedly intended for distribution to voters for the upcoming 2025 local government elections.

During the search, police seized 28 parcels containing 1400 plastic mats and 14 parcels containing 1400 bed sheets.

The search of the house in Swarnapuri village was conducted yesterday (1) following information received by the police that a large quantity of goods was being stored in the abandoned premises for distribution to voters in connection with the election.

All the seized items have been taken into police custody, and investigations have been launched to apprehend the suspects involved. ...
