Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident in Kohuwala last night (10).

A 59-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Saranankara Road.

The victim, a resident of Kokila Road in Wellawatte, was taken to Kalubowila Teaching Hospital with serious injuries but was pronounced dead on arrival.

His body is currently at the hospital's morgue. The individual responsible for the crash has not yet been identified.

Kohuwala Police are appealing for witnesses and are carrying out further inquiries to find the suspect.
