Sri Lanka, June 20 -- Forty-four vehicles, including both Sri Lanka Transport Board and private buses, were temporarily removed from service on the Hatton-Kandy main road yesterday (19). This action was taken by Motor Vehicle Inspector M.S.L. Chandana Bandara from the Narahenpita Motor Traffic Department.
The inspections were carried out in the Bagatholuwa area on the Ginigathena-Nawalapitiya main road, following a request by Nuwara Eliya District Chief Motor Vehicle Inspector Jaliya Bandara. Officers from the Narahenpita Motor Traffic Department's emission testing unit, along with the Ginigathena Police OIC and traffic officers, jointly inspected 115 vehicles.
