India, Jan. 2 -- Approximately 40% of the construction work on the first phase of the Central Expressway, spanning from Kadawatha to Mirigama, is now complete, according to Transport, Highways, and Urban Development Minister Bimal Rathnayake.
The Minister shared this update while participating in an inspection tour of the development site yesterday (01).
During the visit, he instructed officials to pay close attention to potential traffic congestion at entry and exit points of the expressway and along the main Colombo-Kandy road.
He emphasised that these operations must be managed effectively to minimise inconvenience for both drivers and passengers while construction continues.
