Sri Lanka, May 5 -- A strong earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale struck Pakistan today (05).

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported that the earthquake's epicenter was near the Chitral district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, close to the Afghan border.

Foreign media sources indicate that this is the third earthquake to hit the country in recent weeks, raising concerns about seismic activity in the region.
