Sri Lanka, Dec. 26 -- Police report that around 30 people were injured and hospitalized following a severe road accident today (25) in the Handapangodella area on the Matara-Beliatta main road, involving a tipper truck and a bus.

The accident occurred when a private bus traveling from Weeraketiya towards Matara collided head-on with a tipper truck traveling from Matara towards Beliatta.

Those injured were immediately admitted to Dikwewa and Matara hospitals for treatment, according to police.
