Sri Lanka, Jan. 21 -- 24 trade unions within the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) warned of an immediate strike without prior notice if the government issues the gazette to dissolve the board without fulfilling the agreed-upon demands.

Representatives from the Engineers' Association, the Technical Engineers and Superintendents' Association, and the Technicians' Association made this announcement during a press conference in Colombo yesterday.

The restructuring plan involves replacing the CEB with six successor companies.
