Sri Lanka, Oct. 8 -- JVP MP Bimal Rathnayake objected the 21.4 billion rupees supplementary estimate presented to parliament today.

He argued that presenting a supplementary estimate is not practical while an election has been declared.

The supplementary estimate presented by Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka on behalf of Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera.

The 21.4 billion rupees supplementary estimate was presented for the period from March 15 to September 15.

Later, the house was adjourned for October 23.

Meanwhile, MP Ananda Aluthgamage answered to TNA MP R Sampanthan over the latter's questioning about the cremation of the remains of the chief incumbent of Gurukanda Ancient Temple at Nayaru in Mullaitivu.
