Sri Lanka, Dec. 26 -- The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has urged the public to observe a two-minute silence tomorrow (26) morning to remember the lives lost in the devastating tsunami of 2004.

December 26, the day the tsunami struck, has been designated as "National Safety Day" in Sri Lanka, and this year marks the 21st commemoration.

To honor and pay respect to the thousands who perished in the disaster, the DMC requests everyone to remain silent from 9:25 a.m. to 9:27 a.m. tomorrow.
