Sri Lanka, July 18 -- 21 Indian nationals involved in an online gambling operation were arrested this morning (18) by the Investigation Division of the Department of Immigration and Emigration.

Investigations revealed that this group had arrived in Sri Lanka on tourist visas and were illegally residing in a house in the Kirulapone area, continuing their gambling activities after their visas expired.

The arrests were made by officers from the Risk Assessment Unit, a part of the Immigration and Emigration Department's Investigation Division, following data analysis.

The Department of Immigration and Emigration stated that all arrested Indian nationals are between 22 and 36 years old.
