Srilanka, Nov. 18 -- Over 2000 students, including the Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (HNDA) holders and the Higher National Diploma in English (HNDE) holders, are engaged in a massive protest today (18) in front of the Ministry of Education.
The group of students, who arrived marching from the Thalawathugoda junction, are pressuring the government to grant proper recognition to their diplomas and affirm their right to enter public service.
The protest centres around several demands, including: immediately granting university degree status to the Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (HNDA), immediately stopping the prevention of HNDE holders from entering the teacher service, and immediately stopping the denial of opportunitie...
