India, Feb. 4 -- Yumnam Khemchand Singh was sworn in as Manipur's chief minister on Wednesday, a day after being elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislature party leader, with two deputy chief ministers from the Naga and Kuki-Zo communities also taking oath.
A few hours before the swearing-in ceremony, President's Rule in the state, which was imposed in February last year, was lifted, a communique issued by the Union home ministry said.
The ceremony, held at Lok Bhavan in Imphal, also saw Naga People's Front (NPF) member of the legislative assembly (MLA) from the Mao assembly constituency, Losi Dikho, sworn in as deputy chief minister.
