India, July 3 -- An adventurous outing turned tragic for a 22-year-old Jogeshwari resident on June 30 after he jumped into the Channat waterfall near Kumbhe without estimating the strong undercurrent.
The deceased, Rishi Vasudev Pathipaka, travelled to the remote forest in Mangaon taluka with three friends that day. His friends, who did not know how to swim, recorded his stunt and subsequent death on a mobile phone, said a police officer.
According to the accidental death report (ADR) registered at Mangaon police station on Tuesday, the incident occurred at approximately 5.15 pm.
