India, March 8 -- Growing up in the small town in Australia, cricketer Beth Mooney's journey into cricket was anything but conventional. Unlike many aspiring cricketers who train in major cities like Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne, Mooney found herself in an environment where female representation in the sport was sparse. Yet, her love for the game began at home, inspired by watching men's Test cricket on television and following in the footsteps of her older brother.
"I probably had a different experience to some, not all, just because I was sort of 3.5 hour drive to north of Brisbane in a town called Harvey Bay. And, I watched it a lot on TV at home, the, the men's Test cricket, and, just fell in love with the game," she recalls.
