Raipur, Sept. 19 -- A 35-year-old Maoist wanted in at least nine incidents of violence and carrying Rs.5 lakh reward on her head was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Thursday, police said.
The gunfight took place in the morning on a forested hill between under Gadiras police station limits, when a team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) was out on a search operation based on intelligence inputs, an official said.
After the exchange of fire, the body of Maoist, identified as Buski Nuppo (35), was recovered from the site. Police said a .315 bore rifle, five cartridges, one wireless set, eight detonators, four gelatin rods, Maoist literature and other materials were seized from the spot.
