Meerut, March 31 -- A 45-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped in a moving car by a group of unidentified men, who also shot her before fleeing in the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, police officers familiar with the matter said on Sunday.

According to police, the woman was allegedly abducted by five men in the Kotwali area of the district on Saturday. Three of the accused allegedly gang-raped her and then threw her off the vehicle near the Gandhi Udyan area where they shot her before fleeing, they added.
