New Delhi, March 16 -- Sporadic rain and gusty winds on Friday improved Delhi's 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) on Saturday, with a reading in the "satisfactory" zone for the first time since September 29, 2024, which prompted the Commission for Air Quality Management to lift Stage 1 of the Graded Response Action Plan.

The AQI was 85 (satisfactory) at 4pm on Saturday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board's daily national bulletin. It was 198 (moderate) on Friday, 179 (moderate) on Thursday and 228 (poor) on Wednesday. On September 29 last year, Delhi's AQI was 76 (satisfactory).

IMD has forecast partly cloudy skies on Sunday, with the possibility of light rain in isolated parts of the Capital. P4
