New Delhi, Feb. 2 -- The Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) or VB-G RAM G will be rolled out with a total central allocation of Rs.95,692.31 crore, an 11% increase over the last year's budget estimate of Rs.86,000 crore for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). Passed by Parliament, the VB-G RAM G scheme expands the statutory guarantee of wage employment from 100 days to 125 days per financial year, replacing the flagship rural jobs scheme of the previous United Progressive Alliance government.
