India, Oct. 10 -- President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed a proclamation to observe October 13 as Columbus Day, in a reversal of former President Joe Biden's decision in 2021 to mark both Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day on October 13.

"Outrageously, in recent years, Christopher Columbus has been a prime target of a vicious and merciless campaign to erase our history, slander our heroes, and attack our heritage," the proclamation, signed by Trump on Thursday, read.
