India, Dec. 20 -- In what comes as an absolute shocker, Shubman Gill was sacked as vice-captain of India's T20 side and found no place in the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup starting February 7. Gill made his return to India's T20I squad, elevated to the vice-captain role, but following a poor string of scores, the BCCI selection committee dropped him from India's T20I set-up.
As a result, Gill will miss his second straight T20 World Cup.
