India, April 9 -- India has made notable strides in the renewable energy sector in the last decade. According to a report by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the installed capacity under the Renewable Energy (RE) sector, including large hydro, rose from 81.22 GW in 2014-15 to 190.57 GW by 2023-24, marking a remarkable growth of 134.63% during this period.
Furthermore, the report highlights a significant global shift towards clean energy. As of December 31, 2023, the overall installed capacity under the RE and non-RE sectors globally stood at 8987.26 GW, with 3864.52 GW installed under the RE sector.
