India, Jan. 16 -- Jennifer Cruz, a resident of Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested for punching a Florida Highway Patrol officer while she was protesting the deployment of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the city. Cruz, 40, is facing multiple charges, News 4 reported, citing jail records.
Announcing Cruz's arrest, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said that she punched "a trooper in the face."
"Jennifer disagrees with immigration enforcement and decided to commit a few felonies by getting out of her car and punching a Trooper in the face," AG Uthmeier wrote, sharing a photo of Cruz being taken into custody by two officers.
