India, Jan. 28 -- Amazon has announced a fresh round of job cuts affecting as many as 16,000 corporate employees, with the company citing rising competition in artificial intelligence and the need to streamline operations. In a blog post on Wednesday, the company said that it will offer US-based employees 90 days to search for a new role internally, as well as severance and other transition support.
The recent announcement has put the spotlight on Beth Galetti, the senior executive who communicated the decision to staff.
