India, June 19 -- The White House on Thursday announced that President Donald Trump plans to decide within the next two weeks whether the US will intervene in the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.

Quoting Trump, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters: "Based on the fact that there's a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks."

Earlier on Wednesday, President Trump said he was weighing the option of joining Israel's strikes and noted that Iran had approached the US to discuss ending the conflict.
