India, May 10 -- India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire, bringing an end to weeks of deadly hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. The ceasefire is set to take effect at 5 pm Indian Standard Time (IST) on Saturday, according to an official statement from India's Ministry of External Affairs.

The breakthrough was confirmed after high-level diplomatic talks led by the United States, with US President Donald Trump announcing the agreement earlier in the day on his Truth Social platform.
