India, July 30 -- There was a large police presence at the Westfield Old Orchard mall in Skokie, Illinois amid reports of an active shooter on Tuesday afternoon.
CBS News's Skywatch reported, citing a store owner, that they received an alert about a person with a gun on the property, but no shots were fired. Two people were taken into custody by the police, the report added.
There were multiple reports on social media about an active shooter situation at the mall, amid a large police response. Skokie Police asked locals to avoid the area amid the police response:
The visitors and staff at the mall were asked to shelter-in-place, but no lockdown was imposed, an employee of a hair salon at the mall said.
