India, Jan. 27 -- The Department of Homeland Security has denied claims that US Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino has been removed from his role as "commander at large," amid speculation following reports that he and several agents were leaving Minnesota during an immigration enforcement reset.
The confusion intensified after reports suggested that Bovino's departure from Minnesota was described by an administration official as a "mutual decision," following internal frustration over the handling of a fatal Border Patrol shooting in the state. Social media posts subsequently claimed that the commander-at-large position itself had been eliminated.
