Mumbai, April 16 -- The next time Rohit Sharma plays at the Wankhede Stadium in India colours, he will see his name on one of the stands. A decision to name the Divecha Pavilion Level 3 after Sharma was taken during the MCA's Annual General Meeting here on Tuesday.
In another key decision, the Grand Stand Level 4 will be named after former India captain Ajit Wadekar.
For Wadekar, who passed away in 2018, it is an honour that was long overdue. Wadekar is the first India captain to win a series in West Indies and England and for long, there had been a call by a section of the Mumbai cricket supporters, including former BCCI CAO Ratnakar Shetty, to bestow the honour on him. Both the historic Test series wins had come in 1971.
