Mumbai, Dec. 21 -- Voting was completed in 23 local civic bodies in Maharashtra on Saturday, with a friendly fight between the ruling alliance partners - the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Shiv Sena and the Nationalist Congress Party - in several places. With a turnout of 47.04%, state's 23 municipal councils and nagar panchayats went to polls to fill the posts of president and 143 members, officials said, adding that the voting got over at 5.30am. The final turnout figure will be shared on Sunday, officials said. Counting of votes for all 286 municipal councils and nagar panchayats, including those that went to polls on December 2, will begin at 10 am on December 21 (Sunday), the state poll body has said. htc
