New Delhi, Aug. 31 -- A 35-year-old sewadar (volunteer) at the Kalkaji temple was beaten to death allegedly by six devotees on Friday night following an argument over chunni and prasad (religious offerings), police said. According to police, their control room received an alert about the incident at 9.30pm. Deputy commissioner of police (southeast), Hemant Tiwari, said the accused were visiting the temple, after which they demanded prasad from the victim. "An argument broke out when there was a delay and the accused punched the victim and assaulted him with sticks," DCP Tiwari said.
