India, March 9 -- India's maverick batter Virat Kohli confirmed he is going nowhere and will continue playing for the country. His statement came minutes after Rohit Sharma and co won the Champions Trophy 2025 by beating New Zealand in the summit clash. While the retirement question was not asked directly to Virat, the former India captain clarified his intentions about his future.

While speaking to Simon Doull after India's win, Virat said he would leave once he felt the current players could take the baton ahead and continue winning matches for the country.

Before posing the question to Virat, former New Zealand pacer Simon Doull said that whenever the India batter decides to retire, he leaves the baton in very capable hands.
