India, Jan. 30 -- A figure skater, Jon Maravilla, had a ticket for an American Airlines flight to Reagan National Airport, but he was denied boarding due to his dog's size; but he was never scheduled to be on the ill-fated flight to Washington, D.C, on Thursday, per The Daily Beast.

Russian outlet RIA Novosti reported that Maravilla was denied boarding at the Wichita airport gate because his dog did not meet size regulations. So, he opted to travel by car instead of flying.
