India, Feb. 18 -- The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has announced a series of critical changes in veterans' affairs benefits.

The VA Secretary, Doug Collins, said, "The Survivors Pension provides eligible surviving spouses and unmarried dependent children of wartime veterans who meet specific income and net worth thresholds established by Congress with tax-free monthly payments."

In a major overhaul taking effect February 23, the VA has finalized a rule that will help families of deceased veterans receive monetary support faster and with less bureaucratic delay.
