Noida, Dec. 19 -- Renowned Indian sculptor Ram Sutar, celebrated for designing Gujarat's Statue of Unity - the world's tallest statue - passed away at the age of 100 at his residence in Sector 19, Noida, late on Wednesday. Sutar, who began his career in 1947, was among India's most prolific sculptors. Apart from the Statue of Unity, which honours Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, he was widely acclaimed for his iconic statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj riding a horse.
