Meerut, Oct. 5 -- The Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) on Saturday demolished a banquet hall owned by one of those arrested in connection with the recent clashes linked to the "I love Muhammad" poster row, citing "violation of norms". According to officials, the "Raza Palace" banquet hall in Zakheera is owned by one Nafees Khan, alias Dr Nafees, considered to be a close aide of Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan - the main accused in the September 26 violence - and is among the 81 people arrested in the case. On Saturday noon, three bulldozers broke open the main gate of "Raza Palace" to begin the demolition which lasted for three hours, said officials.
