LUCKNOW, Sept. 17 -- A 20-year-old student preparing for NEET was abducted and killed in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur after clashes broke out between residents and suspected cattle smugglers, police said on Tuesday, adding the incident triggered protests by villagers who pelted stones at the police, leaving some senior officers injured. The incident took place Monday, when police said 10-12 "cattle smugglers" at Mauachapi village allegedly tried to break into a shop belonging to the victim's father. The victim raised the alarm and followed the "smugglers", along with villagers. The suspects dragged the victim, Deepak, into one of their vehicles. His body was found 4km away. P14
