PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 5 -- For sub-inspector Chandradeep Nishad of the Uttar Pradesh Police, floods in Pragyagraj, where the Ganga and Yamuna converge, have come as a "blessing". While thousands were displaced by the rising waters, Nishad performed a ritualistic welcome to "Maa Ganga" (Mother Ganga) as the floodwaters reach the doorstep of his home. Two videos of this have gone viral. The first video on Instagram has 901,354 likes and 11,145 comments while the second video has 1,895,468 likes and 21,233 comments.
