PRAYAGRAJ, May 5 -- The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) will begin real-time online attendance tracking for over one crore students and nearly five lakh teachers across 27,000 schools starting July 1, 2025. As part of this initiative, the Board aims to send SMS alerts to parents whenever their child is marked absent, a measure designed to curb absenteeism and foster greater parental involvement in their child's education.
According to board secretary Bhagwati Singh, the system will be operated through a customised software developed over the past year by a private technology firm.
