New Delhi, Nov. 11 -- India's headline unemployment rate was 5.2% in the quarter ended September, according to the latest data from the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) published by the National Statistics Office (NSO) on Monday. However, it is difficult to say whether this represents an improvement or not because there is no data for the same quarter last year. Job numbers are usually compared for the same period across years because of the seasonality of some jobs, such as those in agriculture.
