new delhi, Dec. 16 -- India's headline unemployment rate has decreased to 4.7% in November, the lowest in the monthly series starting April this year, according to Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) data published by the National Statistics Office (NSO) on Monday. Sequentially, November employment decreased half a percentage point compared to October. To be sure, employment statistics are generally compared for the same month across years to account for seasonality of some jobs, such as those in agriculture. However, since the monthly series starts only in April, such year-on-year comparisons will only be possible from April next year.
