Meerut, Dec. 6 -- A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh for allegedly killing his son to fraudulently claim a Rs.2 crore insurance payout, police said on Friday. The accused, identified as Babu Ram, was arrested on Thursday, days after his son Aniket Sharma (30) was found dead in Jaitpur area of Moradabad on November 16. "While we initially believed that Sharma was killed in a road accident, the post-mortem examination revealed that he had been struck on the head with a heavy object," SP Kunwar Akash Singh said, adding that they found Sharma was insured for Rs.2.1 crore.
