Ghaziabad, Feb. 9 -- In a major relief to weekly market vendors across Ghaziabad, UP chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh on Saturday said that they could resume working at their old designated places till a town vending committee takes a decision, and the police "need not take any direct action nor do they've the right".
Speaking on the sidelines of a civic body's event, Singh talked of recent police directions for weekly markets' removal, saying: "I've given directions that vendors will continue to work at the places where they were working. It's only after the corporation finds new places, with the help of town-vending committee and vendors' consent, that they will move to new places."
