U.P. CM orders land rights for refugee families of East Pakistan
Lucknow, July 22 -- Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday ordered land ownership rights to thousands of refugee families rehabilitated across various districts in the state from East Pakistan (present-day Bangladesh), terming it the government's "moral responsibility".
In a high-level meeting, the CM ordered officials to grant land ownership to displaced families. The decision is likely to provide relief to over 10,000 families which migrated from East Pakistan and are settled in Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bijnor, and Rampur.
