India, Sept. 12 -- Tyler Robinson was identified as the suspect who assassinated Charlie Kirk on Wednesday, The New York Post reported on Friday, citing law enforcement sources. The report added that the 22-year-old Utah local was turned in by his father after the FBI posted a video of him escaping Utah Valley University, Orem, by jumping off a roof.
Earlier in the day, President Donald Trump told 'Fox & Friends' that the suspect was apprehended. The 79-year-old, however, did not reveal his identity.
"With a high degree of certainty, we have him," he said, further adding that a minister also involved with law enforcement turned the suspect. "Somebody that was very close to him said, 'Hmm, that's him'."
