India, Jan. 27 -- A 33-year-old Delhi Police head constable had a narrow escape after being overpowered by two unidentified men who snatched his service pistol and fired at him inside the Rose Garden in south Delhi's Hauz Khas, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred around 2 pm on Thursday when head constable, Raj Kumar Yadav, was on patrol duty. He was informed that the two men, aged between 35 and 40, were consuming narcotic substances near the walking track inside the park, police added.

After missing the target, the assailants then threatened to kill the constable if he pursued them. One of the men ran out of the park to the Outer Ring Road, stopped a motorcyclist at gunpoint, abducted him and forced him to flee on the motorcy...
