New Delhi, March 21 -- Two people ostensibly belonging to a Right-wing group were detained on Thursday for allegedly defacing a signboard on Akbar Road on Wednesday night, police said.
An FIR of public defacement has been lodged against them, officers aware of the development said.
The signboard was washed and cleaned on Thursday morning. The group, while defacing the board, told media it was "a protest" over an alleged vandalism of Maharana Pratap statue in Kashmere Gate.
The accused were identified as Amit Rathore and Vijay Singh, and traced through social media videos of the incident. htc
