India, Feb. 13 -- Two school children were injured after a tempo, allegedly being driven rashly, collided head-on with a school bus on the Pune-Mumbai Highway in Panvel on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the police, the accident occurred at 2.05 pm near Parpund village, in front of a hotel in Panvel, when the tempo rammed into a school bus carrying 17 students from primary and secondary classes. An eight-year-old girl sustained serious injuries, while a 16-year-old boy suffered minor injuries. Both children reside in a housing society near Palaspe Phata.

"The girl sustained a fracture and was taken for treatment by her parents. The boy suffered minor injuries," the investigating officer said.
