Bengaluru, Aug. 2 -- Two people accused of kidnapping and murdering a 13-year-old boy in Bengaluru, Karnataka, were arrested after attempts to resist arrest led to cops shooting them on the leg, officials said on Friday. The accused, identified as Gurumurthy (30) and Gopalakrishna (26), were shot in their leg by police on Thursday night after they allegedly tried to resist arrest and attacked a team of officers with sharp weapons, police said. "Both accused were armed and tried to attack us with lethal weapons when we moved in to arrest them. In self-defence, inspector Kumaraswamy and PSI Arvind Kumar opened fire, injuring Gurumurthy in both legs and Gopalakrishna in one.
