India, Feb. 28 -- The Cabinet approved the appointment of Tuhin Kanta Pandey, finance secretary, as chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi), according to an official order issued on Thursday. Pandey, a 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service officer, will head the market regulator initially for three years, the ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions said. He replaces Madhavi Puri Buch, whose term ends on February 28 after serving as Sebi chief since March 2022. HTC
