India, Dec. 9 -- The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday refused to revise its proposed spectrum fee structure for companies offering satellite-based internet services, turning down a request from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to increase charges. The decision comes at a time when companies like SpaceX's Starlink, Amazon's Kuiper, Eutelsat's OneWeb, Jio's SES, Telesat, etc, have expressed interest in obtaining spectrum and market access rights in India. TRAI largely reiterated its earlier stance on satellite spectrum pricing in its recommendations issued on May 9, 2025.
